Kalonzo Pleads With Muthama to Reassess His Decision

By Allan Tawai.

Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has pleaded with Johnston Muthama to re-evaluate his threat to renounce the party. Muthama complained that Kalonzo was running the party like a dictator by imposing Wavinya Ndeti and Julius Malombe to the people.

Speaking while he gave out the nomination certificates, Kalonzo said that he was used to being attacked although he had no political beef with anyone.

“You don’t know why I choose the name Stephen, in the bible, Stephen was pelted with stones and right before he died, he asked God to forgive his attackers,” Kalonzo said. Musyoka also pleaded with all leaders allied with the party to stick together in order to ensure that Jubilee goes home in August.

A press briefing which had been organized by Malombe and Makueni Governor to respond to Muthama was called off at the very last minute. On Thursday, May 11, Wiper is supposed to convene a sitting where Muthama shall be grilled on the utterances that he is leaving Wiper. The party shall also deliberate on a possible disciplinary action on Muthama should he leave the party.
