Majority leader in the national assembly Aden Duale has warned that jubilee members in parliament will not participate in the nominations of members to the East African legislative assembly if the name of the son of wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will be in the party’s nomination list.
Duale was addressing the press in Garissa town where he accused Kalonzo of playing around with the law as the wiper party leader. He said that Kalonzo is engaging in nepotism and Jubilee will not allow it to happen.
The majority leader said Jubilee is watching the development keenly and if the name of Kalonzo will still be on the nominee’s list by Monday, then they will write to the speaker of the national assembly Justin Muturi declaring an intention not to participate in the nomination exercise.
Duale said the former prime minister used his position to appoint his kinsmen and women into a government position. The nomination of Kennedy musyoka to the east African legislative assembly as elicited mixed reactions in the political sphere with presidential running mate Kalonzo musyoka shrugging off the raging controversy.
