Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has spoken about his divorced wife after she was given a nomination certificate by Jubilee party. The story hit headlines after the ruling party awarded the former wife of Muthama, with a nomination certificate for an elective position in the county.
He has now denied having any relationship with Agnes Kavindu saying they divorced in 1983 and whatever Kavindu is engaged in at the moment is her business. “I very much want to talk about that woman, she is not my wife. We parted ways in 1983 in court but I take care of my children,” he was quoted by The Standard.
He further stated that she is just another woman to him since the dowry was already refunded and she won’t be buried in his home. Muthama also said he was not aware if Jubilee was using her to embarrass him adding that she is only clinging on his name which is criminal. Muthama has denied having any ties with Agnes Kavindu.
On Monday, May 15, Kavindu was issued with a nomination certificate by Jubilee to vie for the Machakos Woman Representative seat. The shocking move came just days after Muthama left the Wiper party following wrangles over the running of the party.
