Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua believes firmly in his leadership and the role that young people play in building the nation and the county.
In that spirit, on Friday 19th morning, Mutua held a consultative meeting with the Machakos boda boda, maruti and tuk-tuk Saccos’ officials to exchange ideas on how his government can improve the welfare of the operators.
“I note that my government has done tremendously well in addressing issues of young people and this sector has not been left out. In that regard, in addition to the sheds we put up, we waived fees charged on them thus enabling members in the sector to earn a decent income,” Mutua said.
Mutua appealed to those present to reach out to their members not to be used by politicians during the electioneering period. The youthful governor added that he valued the youth and it broke his heart to see them used by politicians to cause chaos in rallies.
Mutua insisted that politics of insults and violence had no place in Kenya. He urged the electorate to shun and vote out leaders that have failed to empower them instead opting to enrich themselves.
“Wananchi, the only way we shall achieve more development is by voting in leaders based on their track record,” Mutua finished.
