The eagerly anticipated friendly match between Kenya and Angola’s national teams of the locally based players that was scheduled to be played on June 4th in Machakos Stadium has been canceled. This is due to a request made by Angola national team.
Reports from the Angola team say that they will be expected to put up a camp in Portugal to prepare for the 2019 world cup qualifiers and this may be hard for them to travel all the way to Nairobi for the friendly match.
Angola will face off Burkina Faso in their first qualifier on June 10th.
Kenyan side Harambee Stars are set to play their first 2019 AFCON qualifiers on 10th June where they will be battling it out against Sierra Leone in Freetown.
The match call off comes barely after Kenya coach Stanley Okumbi named a provisional squad of 26 local based players who were expected to report to Machakos camp on Sunday.
