- Jubilee MPs want NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka to boot Raila Odinga and team up with DP William Ruto
- The legislators said the move will allow Kalonzo to realise his dream of being president in 2022
- The call by the MPs comes barely two days after Kalonzo and NASA leader Raila Odinga withdrew from the repeat presidential election Pressure is piling on Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka to ditch Raila Odinga and join Jubilee ahead of the 2022 elections.
The fresh onslaught to dissuade the NASA second in command has been launched by Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai as Jubilee tries all means to dismantle the Opposition.
Such moves have been tried before in futility but the Jubilee brigade hopes it becomes successful this time round. Already it has netted former Wiper secretary general Hassan Omar Hassan, Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja, former ODM secretary general and deputy party chairman Ababu Namwamba and Paul Otuoma respectively.
Jubilee has managed to eat into NASA strongholds as it intensifies its bid to become the largest political party in the country under President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto. And during Jubilee campaigns in Kitui on Thursday, October 12, Nyamai led other leaders in pleading with Kalonzo to ditch the opposition saying he is a good leader being misled by Raila.
She was accompanied by Maina Kamanda, Moses Sakuda and Elisha Busienei who all urged Kalonzo to consider working with Ruto in Jubilee. Kalonzo is NASA’s choice for deputy president position and the most probable to takeover from Raila for the top opposition post.
The duo has pulled out of repeat presidential election set for later this month citing bad faith on the side of IEBC and plot to rig on the Jubilee side.
