Former Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama has said that National Super Alliance (NASA) will swear in Former Prime Minister, Raila Amolo Odinga if Jubilee validates President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win.
Speaking in Bondo during a burial of three opposition supporters who were shot dead in anti-IEBC protests, Muthama said that the opposition will not allow Jubilee to retain power through unconstitutional means.
“Nyinyi Jubilee mdhubutu kuapisha Uhuru, sisi tutaapisha Raila,” Loosely translated (You Jubilee if you dare to swear in Uhuru, we will also swear in Raila) he said.
The sentiments of the politician were reiterated by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan, who said that he is confident Raila, an ODM leader, will ascend to power soon.
“Raila Odinga will be the president of this country very soon, ” Joho said amid cheers from the jubilant crowd
On his part, Raila insisted that he is not ready to take part in the rerun.
The opposition leader opines that IEBC has proven beyond doubt that it will not conduct a free and fair election.
The remarks of the former lawmaker comes at a time when IEBC is facing an uphill task conducting the rerun following the unexpected departure of Commissioner Roselyn Akombe
