Voting in some parts of Kitui Central was disrupted after voting materials for several polling stations were destroyed.
The materials,including ballot boxes and papers were destroyed when a school bus that was ferrying them was swept by flooding water.
The voting materials were badly damaged with most of them soaked in water.The materials were being transported to different polling stations when the bus got stuck near Majengo area.
Kenyans turned out to vote in different areas despite major challenges, key among them-climate.
As early as 5 AM, voters were already lined up outside polling stations in preparations to cast their vote in the repeat presidential election.
High voter turn out was reported in Mt Kenya with little activity reported in NASA opposition strongholds,such as Nyanza and Western Kenya
