Residents of Machakos County were on Thursday left in deep shock after a body of a 40-year-old woman was salvaged from a septic tank in Tala market.
According to The Star, the body of the deceased was discovered by the residents who later on informed police officers from Matungulu sub-county.
Confirming the incident, Tala OCS James Njiiri said that the victim’s body was discovered with the hands tied using a rope. Njiiri called upon the residents to cover their septic tanks to avoid such incidents in the near future.
He further prompted residents who have dug holes in their homes to cover them during the rainy season to evade accidents that are likely to claim more lives.
The deceased’s body was transferred to Kangundo Hospital mortuary as police launch investigation behind the incident.
The police are yet to arrest any suspect in relation to the suspicious death of the woman.
