The Wiper Democratic Movement Kenya (WDM-K) has made changes to its management, days after the August general election. Wiper, whose leader is NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka, appointed former Nominated Senator Judith Sijeny as the party’s Secretary General.
She succeeds former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar who joined Jubilee Party, citing lack of the party’s support for his gubernatorial bid.
Makueni county governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana, was appointed the party’s national chairman.
The two-time county boss succeeds former Kitui Senator David Musila, who decamped to the Jubilee Party after failing to clinch a nomination ticket to vie for Kitui governor post.
Mr. Musila later vied as an Independent candidate but lost to Charity Ngilu.
Mr. Kibwana and Ms. Sijeny were appointed in an acting capacity following a party meeting early this week.
Wiper’s Organizing Secretary Robert Mbui said, the National Executive Committee (NEC) will hold a national convention to ratify the appointments.
