NASA co- principal Kalonzo Musyoka now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to hold dialogue with NASA or Raila Odinga will be sworn in as the People’s President.
Mr. Musyoka says this is the message the opposition wants to pass to Uhuru and the Jubilee administration
Speaking on Thursday, December 28 at the home of the late former Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze, the former vice president hinted at what the coalition intends to discuss with President Uhuru Kenyatta should he give in to calls for dialogue with his political nemesis Raila Odinga.
He also implied that NASA intends to inform Uhuru that he will be allowed to be in power for two years and pave way for a fresh election.
Wiper party leader said NASA believes they won the August 8 election that was invalidated by the Supreme Court but for the sake of peace in the country, they will allow Uhuru to be in power for the said period.
“If I were Uhuru I would say, you Kalonzo and Raila allow me to be in power for two years then we go to the ballot. We can agree on that. This will allow for electoral reforms to avoid vote rigging,” Kalonzo said.
As reported by TUKO.co.ke, the former vice president restated that he and Raila Odinga will be sworn in as president and deputy respectively if Uhuru does not give room for dialogue.
He challenged the president to show his love for the country and allow a sit-down with the opposition to end the political stalemate that has persisted since August 2017.
NASA boycotted a repeat election ordered by the Supreme Court and conducted on October 26, 2017.
They however dropped out of the race when their irreducible minimums were not addressed by IEBC
