Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua wants all Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) who voted for the People’s Assembly to be forced out of office.

Mutua, who fell out with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said in a video seen by TUKO.co.ke that he will be moving to court to compel the local politicians to resign for supporting the opposition.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader said that an elected MCA cannot decide to vote to take back power to the people and still remain in office still exercising the same power on behalf of the people.

To him, Kenya is not a kangaroo nation as it has laws that govern everybody. He said that by voting for the Peoples’ Assembly, the MCA’s automatically resigned and wants the court to declare their seats as vacant terming the move by the MCAs as arrogance and political impunity that has gone on for long.

Already, over 15 Counties have passed and adopted the People’s Assemblies that gives power to the people to exercise their rights and freedoms. It is on this basis that national Super Alliance (NASA) will be swearing-in Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as the president and deputy respectively.

NASA disputed the results of the August 8, 2017 presidential election, claiming it had won the contest but the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission colluded with Jubilee Party and other actors like Safaricom to snip the election in favor of Uhuru Kenyatta.

The opposition boycotted the repeat exercise held on October 26 in which Uhuru was declared to have won with an overwhelming majority.

NASA has demanded for dialogues based on electoral justice. In its bid to force for the talks, it has called for civil disobedience and product boycott as well as passing motions establishing People’s Assemblies across the country to show how influential it is.
